At Alyon Inc. we take special care to avoid the most common work place injuries, sprains, strains, and overexertion. Our workplace best practices include working in teams and assessing the need for lifting equipment before a task is completed. Alyon Inc. has incentives in place for lower turnover and our young workers orientation includes different levels of training before an employee is able to move to the next training level.
Communicating in Real Time Keeps Safety a Priority
We are fully digital and in real time. Our employees have access to all safety materials they need right from their devices, including the completion of daily field level hazard assessments and Toolbox meetings. Any documents needed on site are stored in the cloud for access anywhere.
Past Projects
Burnaby Drainage
This site was completed for the City of Burnaby. A storm system update and creek bank reconstruction was needed and done by a construction contractor. Numerous indigenous trees and shrubs were supplied and planted by Alyon Inc. to restore this creek channel. Willow stakes were installed along the creek banks for stability and shade for the fish. On the upper levels, shrubs were planted to fill in the bare areas while still keeping the existing pedestrian trails.
Fraser River Debris Trap
As more debris has been floating down the Fraser River, an update of the Fraser River Debris Trap was needed. With the fluctuation of the river level, different types of plants were planted at each level. The lower level was planted with different semi-aquatic grasses. The middle level was planted with willow stakes to stabilize the bank. The willows are able to be under water during high water levels. The top of the bank was planted with shrubs to create shade and cover for wildlife.
Silver Valley
A storm and surface water catch area was created for a new subdivision. Earthwork done by a construction contractor. Street trees were installed along with sod. Indigenous trees and shrubs were installed along the newly constructed creek in like clusters. Hydroseed was then installed in the area to help keep the moisture in the soil as well as to keep the weeds from becoming established. In the creek area, semi-aquatic grasses and rushes were installed. All trees and plants were supplied by Alyon Inc.
